Seeing that Biology is defined as the study of life, this course takes the student into an in depth learning experience focusing on the past, present, and future life on Earth. The goal of the course is for a student to understand the core concepts behind Biology by gaining foundational knowledge in five areas: cellular, molecular, genetics, evolution and biodiversity, and ecology. The course covers the basics of each of these areas, utilizing active learning through a live lecture format where the student develops a connection with the teacher, and therefore a connection with the material being covered. Because biology is applied chemistry, and chemistry is applied physics, a background in both these areas of study does help, but is not required.
