Middle School Spanish 1

Middle School Spanish 1 Online High School Course

COURSE LENGTH:

Full Year (30 Sessions)

Course Overview

This year-long course begins the world language journey of middle-school students with little or no experience learning Spanish. By exploring the world cultures in which Spanish is utilized every day, and practicing real-life conversations, students engage with a variety of useful activities. Topics include both contemporary and historical themes, as well as the process of cultural comparison, in order to create fun learning experiences. There is an abundance of person-to-person communication during synchronous sessions. The course moves at a comfortable pace for all learners, with the possibility of additional challenges for those who are ready. Students will be assessed with online evaluations of all four communication skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) as well as opportunities to share their knowledge of cultural comparison. Students begin this course at approximately Novice Low proficiency level; their anticipated level at the end of the course is Novice Mid.
