We believe good teachers are going to matter more, not less, as education continues to move online.

We’ve been teachers ourselves, many of our family members are teachers, and we know the lasting impact of a committed teacher has on his and her students. Traditional online education programs stress on-demand, self-paced learning that minimizes the need to connect with a real person.

At Prestans Online Academy, we believe that you shouldn’t have to choose between access to inspiring, committed teachers and the convenience and flexibility of traditional online learning. Our hybrid synchronous and on demand online learning program gives a broad range of learners the best opportunity for success.

Student Centered

Students first, students always. Our community, (students, faculty, and stakeholders) all aspire to be lifelong learners. At Prestans, we are all active participants in the learning process and we are committed to providing a high quality, student centered, education for all our students.

Connection 

We prioritize not just a pedagogical connection between a student and the course content, but even more importantly an emotional connection between student and teacher. Research has demonstrated that if students feel an emotional connection to their course or classmates or course content, they are much more likely to be engaged in the learning program. 

This is why almost all our classes start off intentionally with teachers checking in with the students, not necessarily about the academic course, but about their lives. From a broader pedagogical standpoint, this is also why we prioritize synchronous, human touch points embedded within asynchronous course content that allow for the greatest possible connectivity between student and instructor, and between course content and student.

Innovation 

Education is not static and immobile. It is an ever-changing, developing concept that mirrors broader cultural and generational shifts. As the needs of learners evolve, our teaching programs must evolve with it. 

While education has traditionally been resistant to an entrepreneurial, innovative mindset, we cannot be satisfied doing things the way they have always been done. To this end, Prestans strives to be at the forefront of exploring new and different avenues for delivering our educational program.
