Psychology Online High School Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
General Psychology is a course designed to introduce and excite high school students about the study of psychology. In this semester-length course, students will learn about all major areas of psychology. Students will learn to explain behavior and apply theories using concepts from different theoretical frameworks. Students will also learn to analyze, interpret, and evaluate psychological research studies.

Apply psychological principles to an understanding of human behavior
To gain an understanding of the theoretical perspectives and the major areas of psychology
Use empirical evidence to come to suitable and objective conclusions about mental processes and behavior
Be able to explain different models of behavior based on science as opposed to intuition
Learn to design, conduct, and evaluate psychological research
Understand and describe the ethical principles that guide psychologists in research and therapy today
Identify, read, and critically assess credible scientific sources
Use evidence-based reasoning to support arguments
Be able to apply complex behavioral concepts to real-world scenarios
