Riffs and Rising Talent: Theo's Musical Journey
“Last time during our jam session, I picked up the sax, but this time I picked up the guitar instead…” Theo pauses, searching for more than words while tapping the table with rhythm. “I couldn’t tell you exactly why, it was what I felt that day,” he explains with a shrug. It’s an answer that sounds simple but reveals something much deeper about Theo. For him, music is more than a hobby; it’s a feeling, an internal conversation–one that he’s been having since the age of five.
the extraordinary and the everyday can coexist
When Theo recalls how he first got into music, he’s not bragging. Instead, he’s replaying a memory the way you might hum a familiar tune. His childhood piano lessons were structured and consistent. Piano became “the base of everything,” even though he admits that he didn’t love it at first. By middle school he’d picked up the saxophone, then later the guitar, and now he’s fascinated by the experimental wave‑based electronic instruments he sees producers using online. Theo talks about each instrument the way some people talk about moods: saxophone has an edge, guitar feels looser, more open. He follows whatever sound sparks something in him, and that openness is part of what makes his creativity feel so alive, even in conversation.
Theo’s musical world extends beyond the instruments he picks up onto the digital stage, where he has thousands of listeners. On TikTok, he’s built a steady base of nearly 20,000 followers and gained over a million impressions, and anyone can stream his music on Spotify, Apple, and Amazon Music. Yet, as his audience grows, Theo is intentional about the pace of his burgeoning career. With guidance from his family and manager, he’s balancing his creativity with safety, timing, and long‑term goals. He’s building something meaningful without rushing the process.
All the while, Theo is still learning about music too. Alongside his Prestans courses, Theo takes a college-level course on sound engineering, which allows him to learn more about the technical side of production. As he looks towards his future, he’s rooted in the same combination of curiosity and artistry. Theo is busy preparing for possible song camps and collaborations, and he’s considering a strategic path of growing his online following before making a full debut after he turns 18. In the middle of all that, he’s still doing the most normal high-school things: taking tests, studying for history, and playing soccer with friends.
After sharing some behind‑the‑scenes music‑video photos (check those out!) and glancing at the Chinese homework waiting on his desk, Theo signs off and offers a powerful reminder: the extraordinary and the everyday can coexist, and how both influence the artist he’s becoming.
